JYAML 4.0.0 RC2 released

The Joomla! Template Framework JYAML is now available as Release Candidate 2.

Very important: Please read the update notes below before update.

JYAML 4.0.0 RC2 contains 5 Bug-Fixes and 1 new Feature from the tracker:

And for now the first version of the documentation for JYAML 4.x is available in German and English.

Also in JYAML 4.0.0 RC2 a template upgrader is integrated. This makes updates of necessary and new files easier.

Update notes from JYAML 4.0.0 RC1 to 4.0.0 RC2

At first, please update the JYAML System Plugin (plg_system_jyaml.zip) only, before update all other JYAML extensions. If you not do this, all template files will be overwritten and all your changes will be lost forever, because a Bug in the Joomla! install adapter. The JYAML System Plugin from 4.0.0 RC2 prevent this bug.

When you have successful installed the JYAML System Plugin you can proceed the update.
Please read the section Installation & Updates in the documentation how update your template.

JYAML 3.0.7 released

This Version fixes an save bug in the JYAML component.

To update from 3.0.5 to 3.0.7 please read the update instructions to version 3.0.6. It's all the same.

For an update from 3.0.6 to 3.0.7 you must only update the JYAML component (com_jyaml.zip - 3.0.7). That's it.

Note: From now (6 July 2011) the 3.0.7 files has been updated in the download section.
There are unfortunately two files slipped from the 3.0.5 version in the archives. Sorry!

JYAML 3.0.6 released

Now the Joomla! Template Framework JYAML is available in version 3.0.6. The YAML framework has been updated to version 3.3.1.

Update notes from JYAML 3.0.5 to 3.0.6

On first please read the update article in the documentation as well.

You can easily upgrade with the complete package (or alternatively the system plugin and the component separately). The existing files (except the template) are replaced automatically with the upgrade method.

The template must be updated as always by hand. Otherwise maybe you lost their own layout changes.

Note:
The message "template already exists" can be ignored after install the complete package. This only appears when a template is already installed with the name "hm_yaml. As mentioned above it must be updated manually.

Before the upgrade make a backup of your JYAML template, please.

Manually update of your JYAML template:

  1. Download and unzip the JYAML standard template (hm_yaml).
  2. Copy the folder "yaml" into your own template root foder to upgrade the YAML framework to version 3.3.1.
  3. Copy and overwrite the file "html/pagination.php" to Fix the Issue #12
  4. And finally you should be update the version number from 3.0.5 to 3.0.6 in the templateDetails.xml.

JYAML 4.0.0 Release Candidate 1

The Joomla! Template Framework JYAML is now available as Release Candidate 1.

There have been no major changes. It have been fixed few bugs, implemented a accessible accordion with corresponding module style(chrome) and added a equal height method for MooTools based on YAML syncheight for jQuery.

JYAML 4.0.0 Beta1 for Joomla! 1.6 is now available

Now you can start to build Joomla! 1.6 templates with YAML.

Major Changes:

  • JYAML Component removed. The template is now configurable in the template manager.
  • Added JYAML Library. This is the main framework and includes all core files.
  • Removed Designs and their folder structure. Because Joomla1.6 can handle multiple Template styles.
  • jQuery removed by default. All script rewritten for MooTools and MooTools-More.
  • All basemod_colX.css and patch_colX.css files are removed. Column order etc. now defined with the dynamic body css classes.
  • For better overview all CSS subdirectories are removed. Instead the filenames has prefix names now.
